DIFFERENTIAL TEMPERATURE THERMOSTATS FOR THE SOLAR HEATING INDUSTRY

The Delta-T controller is a differential temperature thermostat designed specifically to regulate the operation of a solar heating system.

Its basic function is to monitor collector and storage temperatures and to automatically turn a circulation pump or blower on or off at the appropriate temperature differentials.

The controller can also provide additional functions, such as system freeze protection by recirculation, storage tank high limit shut off, or positive off when the collector is below 80°F.

Models DTT-84 and DTT-94

For use in open-loop, closed-loop or drain-back solar heating systems.

The DTT-84 and 94 utilize two 10K Ohm sensors (not included) to perform all temperature sensing functions. One sensor is installed on the hot-out collector header and insulated and connected with a sensor wire to the control terminal "COLL", the second sensor attaches to the storage tank or water heater and connects with a sensor wire to "STG" on the control terminal.

Additional functions available are pump circulation for freeze protection at 42°F on and 47°F off (additional snap switches may be added), or high temperature limit off at 160°F or 180°F.

A DIP switch allows two precise settings for the ON/OFF differentials of either 18°F/5°F or 9°F/4°F.
